Curly Goat Ranch is located in Prescott. The cross roads are Gurley and Overland. Close to Yavapai College, Best Western and the Veteran's Cemetary.
I'm looking for someone who lives close that is available to work with me doing the afternoon goat milking. Yes, seriously. lol!
The time varies a bit through the year but the start time now is around 5pm. Once trained it would probably be a 1.5 hour shift 5 days a week. Will train the right person.
There is definitely the opportunity for more hours as my vision for the property comes together.
This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to learn and grow. We'll be setting up a commerical vermicomposting system for animal waste this year and will be planting out an orchard as well, among other things.
This position needs someone who enjoys animals, has a positive attitude, a handful of patience and capable hands.
It could also potentially be a team of two people. One to deliver hay to the critters and take care of other afternoon chores and one to help milk.
I'd like this person to be able to grow into the position to where they're comfortable with the goats and can cover milking duties occasionally, when I'm gone.
This is NOT a position for young kids. I get asked this a lot so I'm just putting it out there from the beginning. It might work to have a high school age child team up with you, but not anyone younger.
I'm also looking for a morning person for general animal pen clean up and such. I'll make a separate post about that but figured I'd mention it here as well.
This is a long term position. I'm not looking for temporary help. We milk year round. I'd love to find someone who can grow with the property.
