Job Details

Role purpose (position scope): Primary responsibilities include providing support for problem solving of assembly/test issues through investigation and research. Experienced in continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma,) design for manufacture, production readiness, and manufacturing processes.

The individual must be able to meet all minimum standards within 90 days.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process improvement.
  • Process development and capability studies.
  • Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Actions System (FRACAS) and root cause analysis in factory and supplier environments.
  • Participate in design for manufacturing and production readiness reviews.
  • Basic design, commission and debug process assembly/test equipment.
  • Electronic component knowledge.
  • Failure analysis.
  • Schematic interpretation.
  • BOM and Router creation and maintenance in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Technical writing and maintenance of factory work instructions.
  • Perform design and MSLA 3D printing of manufacturing aids.
  • Statistical analysis application on process capabilities.
  • Application of structured approaches to problem solving (Ishikawa, Pareto, etc.).
  • Application and use of Lean Six Sigma to manufacturing environment.
  • Support of, and observation of, CAC policies and procedures related to the Quality Management System, and certifications held by CAC (e.g., AS9100C, etc., NADCAP). Performance management and continuous improvement in:
  • Quality
  • Schedule
  • Cost
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives through participation in events affecting their area of responsibility, for sustaining efforts and continuous improvement.
  • Comply and uphold Canyon Aeroconnect, Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and standards.
  • Comply with the Canyon Aeroconnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Core Competencies:
  • Knowledge of basic product, test equipment and fixture design
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Knowledge of IPC and J-STD soldering practices.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M tolerance standard
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD R13 software and ability to operate Solidworks
  • Read and understand basic electronic schematics and PCB assembly drawings
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge applied
Level II - Intermediate (Experienced)
  • KNOWLEDGE - Full use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Knowledge/exposure to AS9100, FAA and ISO desired;
  • JOB COMPLEXITY - Works on problems of moderate scope and complexity, where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • DISCRETION/LATITTUDE - Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, and overall adequacy and accuracy
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's Degree (or the equivalent combination of education and experience) and 3 years of related experience. LEAN Six Sigma certification desired

  • Support On Time To Promise (OTTP) and First Pass Yield (FPY) as defined per OPERATIONS KPI

Physical Demands:
  • Tasks involve light physical effort in sedentary to light work; may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects or materials (20-30 lbs.)
  • Exposure to noise and chemicals
  • May be required to pass eye tests and correct vision to acceptable standards
