Primary Responsibilities:
Mechanics are responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained while strictly adhering to all state, federal, company policies and procedures. Internal customer service is a high priority and communication is key to ensuring our team is successful together.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing semi-trucks, trailers and dump trucks
Adhere to preventative maintenance program including inspection and oil changes
Follow direction and priorities provided by management
Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues
Replacing malfunctioning sub-assemblies and subcomponents: transmissions, clutches, differentials, (engine not mandatory but a plus)
Collaborate with team to diagnose problems and plan repairs
Record all maintenance information and complete all necessary paperwork
Ensure timekeeping records are complete per policy
Ensure tools, equipment, shop and yard are kept clean and organized
Ensure truck phones and video recording equipment is functioning properly and report any issues immediately
Communicate any issues to management including dispatch of “truck down”
Adhere to all safety regulations and requirements
Complete safety training as required
Adhering to and maintaining inventory control and 5S program
Technical Knowledge Requirements:
Perform all work in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and OSHA regulations
Certified in brake repair and federal annual inspections
Ability to read and interpret repair orders, manuals, schematics and technical bulletins
Ability to repair, maintain and test mechanical equipment
Proficient in the use of shop tools mandatory
Proficient in trouble-shooting electrical issues, (engine not mandatory but a plus) A/C diagnostics and maintenance
Proficient in repairs of truck tires, brakes, clutches and suspensions
Proficient in welding both steel and aluminum

Ability to work Saturdays when necessary
Must pass a drug screen and background check
Physical Requirements:
Continuous physical movement and work for the duration of the shift
Frequent walking, bending, lifting
Ability to work in exposure to the valley weather for extended periods
Handling and manipulation of and heavy lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds
Occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds
Safely enter and exit trucks and heavy equipment
