We are seeking a skilled Van Carpenter/ Builder to join our dynamic team at Papago Vans. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with wood and laminate materials, along with a strong background in edge banding. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting custom cabinetry and interior finishes for our high-quality camper vans, ensuring that all projects meet our rigorous standards for quality and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, and finish custom wood and laminate cabinetry for camper vans.
- Utilize edge banding techniques to ensure clean, professional edges on all laminated surfaces.
- Collaborate with designers and other carpenters to bring innovative designs to life.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to accurately measure and cut materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while performing all carpentry tasks.
- Assist with other carpentry and assembly tasks as needed within the shop.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a carpenter, with a focus on wood and laminate work.
- Strong knowledge of edge banding processes and techniques.
- Proficiency in using various woodworking tools and machinery.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to stand, sit, crouch for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience in custom cabinetry or van builds is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Wages: $20 - $24 per hour, based on experience.
- Benefits: Healthcare, dental, and vision insurance available after 60 days.
- Retirement: 401(k) eligible after 60 days.
