This position is located at the Tempe campus, Tempe, AZ (on Rural Road south of Apache Blvd).
This position requires that you must possess a valid Arizona driver's license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39-month period from date of hire.
Must pass pre-employment physical examination post offer of employment.
This position is considered safety/security sensitive and will include a fingerprint check. Employment is contingent upon successful passing of all background, including fingerprint checks.
This position requires working a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule and may be called in for emergency response including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description:
Facilities Development and Management seeks a Locksmith Supervisor to lead lock and key operations. In this role, you will work closely with a skilled team, managing the repair, installation, and maintenance of locks and related hardware. Additionally, you will be responsible for estimating small projects, including installations for new construction.
Essential Duties:
Supervise, delegate tasks, and review locksmiths' work to ensure quality and efficiency.
Actively collaborate with team members and engage with customers to ensure clear communication and seamless service.
Coach employees in basic and advanced locksmith skills.
Work with contractors and project managers for specifics on keying and hardware specifications.
Assist in the development, planning, and management of a large master key system.
Determine the scope of work, prepare labor and material estimates, and monitor expenditures to ensure staying within budget.
Order materials and maintain inventory.
Read blueprints and schematics, inspect all projects to ensure compliance with local codes.
Repair and install combination locks.
Repair and maintain locks for desks and file cabinets. Install and repair various types of panic hardware.
Operate and maintain Electronic Access Control system including CCTV and intrusion.
Cut new or duplicate keys from existing keys, patterns, or codes.
Gain access to doors or locks if there is no existing keys or codes.
Troubleshoot, repair, and install commercial door locking hardware.
Use hand tools (e.g. screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, hand files, picks) and power tools (e.g. drills, saws, grinders).
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Salary Range
$60,000 – $65,000 per year; DOE. ASU offers a comprehensive benefits package with the State of Arizona.
Desired Qualifications:
Must have Seven years of locksmith experience, including experience with electronic access systems and one year of lead experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
Three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.
Experience with: industrial, commercial, educational and residential physical security; hardware, software, installation, and maintenance.
Knowledge of: access control systems including CCTV and intrusion (i.e. ISAAC); Medeco, Schlage, and Best/Stanley.
Ability to lead the team while efficiently managing time and priorities.
Evidence of effective communication skills
Working Environment:
Walk in extreme varying temperatures to service locations throughout campuses.
Lift and carry up to 60 pounds and climb ladders to adjust rods/internal mechanisms on doors.
Stand or kneel for long periods of time.
Drive University vehicles/carts.
May be exposed to hazardous and dangerous materials, tools, and equipment which will require safety precautions and/or specific process to be followed, and may include the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) (e.g. safety glasses, hearing protection, negative pressure and positive pressure respirator). Use of PPE may require medical clearance prior to use.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
