We are looking for a light duty automotive tech to join our small team. We have a fleet of over 80 rental cars that we rent out locally on the Turo car share platform. We have a head mechanic that does most of the heavy duty and diagnostic work, but with our growing fleet we need another full time tech to help around the shop. Most of the day to day work will be routine automotive maintenance; such as fluid changes, brakes, tires, engine mounts etc. Applicants must have at minimal lube tech experience.
Daily duties also include washing / cleaning cars. This is a group effort, not something that will be solely your responsibility. Most of the cars just need a quick vacuum and wash between renters. Occasionally cars will require detailing work or need to have seats removed to be power washed. As a small business we all share many of the responsibilities around the shop. From time to time you may have to interact with customers, pickup cars from auction, clean the warehouse, etc. It is required for you to have a valid driver’s license as you will be transporting cars and taking test drives.
We have 2 locations; our main shop is in Phoenix off 32nd st and Broadway and we have a second shop in Mesa. The majority of the work will be done at the Phoenix location but we may occasionally need help at our other location.
In addition to rental cars we also sell kids and family friendly power sports products such as dirt bikes, atvs and go karts. These come in crates and require basic assembly. This part of the job is really easy and more seasonal. Most of our powersports sales are during the holidays. The rest of the year the assembly is minimal.
We are a small hardworking team. Currently we have 4 full time employees that have been with us for several years. The work environment is laid back and relaxed; we like to have fun and joke around. This time of year it gets pretty hot in the shop. The warehouse is cooled with evap coolers that work great most of the year but during the peak summer months it gets hot. We do have office space with ac for breaks and cooling off.
