Local grading company is hiring a full time Heavy Equipment-Construction Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of gas/diesel equipment in the shop and field. Our company does all kinds of finish work, and this position will support our entire fleet of construction equipment as well as our truck fleet. You will travel to various job sites to make electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on equipment such as excavators, loaders, motor graders, Gannon tractors, scrapers, water trucks, bull dozers and more. Applicants should have a general working knowledge of vehicle/engine maintenance. Working knowledge of diesel machines a plus.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance on: Mini Excavators, Motor Graders, Scrapers, Gannon Tractors, Water Trucks as well as our fleet of pickup trucks.
Change out cutting edges
Change out bucket teeth
Fleet of work trucks
Perform routine inspections on equipment
Safely and efficiently operate equipment to complete assigned tasks
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion
Assist with manual labor tasks as needed
Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
Determine what parts are necessary to make repairs
Complete shop paperwork
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications:
Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance procedures
Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation
High school diploma or GED certificate
Manual dexterity
Valid AZ driver's license and a clean driving record
Valid US work Authorization documents for E-Verify
CDL License (a plus but not required)
Skills:
Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repair techniques
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
