The Western States Metal Roofing team is looking for a Facility Maintenance Assistant to join our team! If you’re skilled with machinery, have a knack for troubleshooting, know your way around electrical systems, and can proactively assist around the facility with all maintenance responsibilities we’d love to hear from you!
You will be training alongside the WSMR facility maintenance manager to learn how to maintain and improve the efficiency of our processes. You'll assist in ensuring machinery and systems are operating reliably, respond promptly to requests, and proactively prevent downtime through effective repairs and inspections. Routine inspections will be conducted around the facility to ensure everything is in proper working order.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Maintenance & Repair:
Assist in repairing and maintaining manufacturing machinery, including CNC machines, welders, presses, and conveyors.
Perform regular inspections to identify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct routine servicing to keep equipment in top working order.
Replace worn parts, lubricate machinery, and check system performance regularly.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, including motor failures, control system malfunctions, and wiring problems.
Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify root causes.
Facility Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining building systems such as lighting, HVAC, and plumbing.
Perform minor repairs on facility infrastructure, as needed.
Travel
Travel to our Tucson location may arise on some occasions. Mileage reimbursement will be given.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain detailed logs of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the maintenance team and production staff to prioritize repairs and minimize disruption.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
Requirements:
Experience:
Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role, preferably in metal manufacturing.
Skills:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols.
Physical Abilities:
Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50-75 lbs. ), stand for long periods, and work in varying conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise, confined spaces).
Certifications (Preferred):
Certification in industrial maintenance, electrical work, or related field is a plus.
OSHA certification or familiarity with workplace safety standards is a plus.
AMOUNT OF PAY IS DEPENDENT ON HOW MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWELDGE YOU HAVE WORKING IN THIS FIELD.
Full time Monday - Friday 7am to 4pm
