Department Operations

Location Site based, 100% Travel

Pay $28- $32 an hour

Job type Full-time

Shift and schedule Weekends as needed, Evenings as needed, Holidays

Role Summary

The Construction Lead is an hourly, non-exempt position. It is responsible for supervising small projects as the only lead, a smaller section of a medium/large projects reporting to a Sr. PM or PM. This position should understand current challenges and progress of a project and communicate frequently and appropriately with management and the client as needed. This role should hold a level of expertise sufficient to problem solve and drive process improvement. Additional scope of responsibility under direction of management to gain experience necessary to become a PM may be assumed.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of 4-6 installation technicians

Hands on requirement for installation of large walk-in cooler boxes and trim work

Use of CAD/DWG or other similar engineering software to measure and layout cooler boxes

Training project teams on process and installation requirements ensuring they have the correct tools to complete tasks. Verify individuals hold appropriate certifications to operate machinery required for the intended scope

Production tracking – Support PM or Sr. PM in monitoring production metrics (task completion, milestone completion, project hours) against budget schedule to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget

Health and Safety – Support PM or Sr. PM in the effective implementation of Health Safety & Environmental policies and processes in line with Commercial Case & Panel (CCP) and General Contractor requirements for all CCP associates on the project

Communication with PM or Sr. PM as needed

Change Management – Support PM or Sr. PM in tracking scopes of work against contractual requirement and following customer/CCP process to report change orders as they arise

Qualifications

At least 2 years previous experience in construction, carpentry, trim/finish carpentry or similar industries

Previous supervisory experience, leading and motivating small teams in dynamic work environments

Experience working professionally with diverse personalities – clients, suppliers, temporary agency staffing

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Good organizational skills and time management with ability to handle multiple priorities and deliverables to fixed deadlines within small to medium projects

Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs - Excel, Word, and Outlook

Experience with hand tools and industrial equipment (tape measure, drills, impacts, forklifts, lulls, scissor lifts)

Must be able to walk long distances daily due to scale of the warehouse and supermarket environment. Able to carry up to 45 pounds, lift and move parts and tools requiring bending and carrying, within safe limits

Preferred Skills

Bilingual Spanish/English speaking is a plus

OSHA 10 or greater

Forklift Certification, OSHA Lull Certification, OSHA Aerial and Scissor Lift Certification

Steel erection and working at heights

OSHA Fall Protection Certification

Microsoft Project and Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience preferred but not required (DWG/Bluebeam)
