About the Job:
As a contractor with AJ Employment Services, you will be working on assignments that vary in duration and type. Our job opportunities range from temporary roles to temp-to-hire positions, and availability can change frequently. Sometimes we have only temporary jobs, other times temp-to-hire positions, and occasionally both. Flexibility and openness to both temporary assignments and temp-to-hire opportunities are essential for success in this role.
Requirements:
- Must have your own tools and reliable transportation.
- Essential tools include:
- Channel locks
- Pliers
- Box cutters
- 11-in-1 screwdrivers
- Hammers
- Tape measures
- Adjustable wrenches
- Ratchets
- Basin wrenches
- Cordless drills
- Flexibility with travel across different properties in Phoenix. The more flexible you are, the more opportunities you’ll have.
- Previous experience in apartment maintenance is preferred.
- Must submit a valid resume and be prepared to undergo a background check.
Daily Tasks:
- Picking up trash and conducting apartment cleanouts.
- Moving appliances, caulking, painting, and performing minor repairs.
- Conducting electrical work and installing fixtures, doors, and plumbing components.
- Handling other varied tasks as assigned based on property needs.
To Succeed in This Role:
1. Be punctual and professional at all times.
2. Bring your personal tools to every assignment and be ready to tackle a variety of maintenance tasks.
3. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and property managers.
4. Document tasks in a notebook and mark them off upon completion.
5. Take before and after photos of your work to ensure quality.
6. Check in regularly with your supervisor—upon arrival, during breaks, at lunch, and at the end of the day.
7. Minimize cellphone use during work hours to stay focused and productive.
8. Stay engaged and adaptable to different job sites and tasks.
