Job Description
The Municipal Security Guard responsibilities include patrolling and observing the activities of persons in and around city public libraries. Work involves providing customer service, assessing problem situations and exercising tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution; monitoring live video screens and foot patrolling the building, grounds, and parking lots to observe unusual behavior and to prevent vandalism; preventing unauthorized access to restricted areas; remaining at a fixed post to observe activities; answering routine inquiries and directs customers to appropriate areas; completing log entries and incident reports; ensuring that all customers and staff have vacated building at closing and performing a security check of all doors and windows; enforcing correction of infractions through verbal warning, removing customers from building as needed, and detaining more serious offenders for proper authorities; and escorting personnel from building after hours.
Experience
-Minimum 6 months experience in security type role
Must be able to pass drug and background check.
