As a Small Business Advocate, you will play a crucial role in assisting taxpayers who have filed for the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) and are experiencing prolonged delays in receiving payments from the IRS.

Your primary responsibility will be to advocate on behalf of these clients by reaching out to the Taxpayer Advocate, coordinating communications with congressional representatives and senators' offices, and preparing necessary documentation to expedite the processing of their claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients awaiting ERTC payments from the IRS.

Initiate contact with the Taxpayer Advocate on behalf of clients to escalate unresolved issues and expedite claim processing.

Prepare and maintain professional communication channels with congressional representatives, senators' offices, and IRS officials to apply pressure for prompt resolution of ERTC claims.

Draft letters, emails, and other forms of correspondence to articulate clients' concerns and advocate for timely payments.

Documentation and Form Preparation:

Assist clients in completing IRS Form 911 (Request for Taxpayer Advocate Service) accurately and comprehensively.

Collect and organize all relevant documents and information pertaining to the ERTC claim from clients to support advocacy efforts.

Ensure the timely submission of all required forms and supporting documentation to relevant parties, including the IRS and congressional offices.

Client Support:

Provide empathetic and responsive support to clients throughout the advocacy process, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.

Keep clients informed of the progress of their cases and any developments related to their ERTC claims.

Offer guidance and assistance to clients in navigating IRS procedures and requirements related to the ERTC.

Phone Communication:

Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls from clients, congressional offices, and IRS representatives.

Effectively communicate clients' issues, concerns, and requests during phone interactions, maintaining professionalism and diplomacy at all times.

Document phone conversations accurately and comprehensively for reference and follow-up purposes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience in tax advocacy, IRS representation, or similar roles highly desirable.

Strong understanding of IRS processes and procedures related to tax credits, particularly the Employee Retention Tax Credit.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Empathetic and client-focused approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with tax preparation software preferred.

Knowledge of legislative processes and government relations considered a plus.

Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate client needs and deadlines.
