Safety Coordinator

We are looking for a safety coordinator for a manufacturing facility in the west valley.

The safety coordinator will be responsible for all manufacturing plant safety programs.

This is a direct hire position with a a great company!

Job duties and essential functions:

Works with leadership to develop or revise safety initiatives and programs.

Facilitates the Safety Committee by being a mentor to safety committee leadership.

Implement and maintain Lock out tag out (LOTO) program.

Create, review and update job hazard assessments (JHA).

Develops, documents, and maintains compliance for all company, local, state, and federal safety requirements.

Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed, and protective equipment is properly utilized. Ensure all routine safety inspections are completed on time.

Facilitates and investigates all safety incidents; near miss, first aides, recordable incidents. Uses cross functional team to determine incident root cause and implement robust corrective actions and share such information with other locations for their use.

Conducts new hire training and ensures new employees understand safety practices and policies; provides training to employees on the safe and appropriate operation of machinery and equipment; provides training to contractors and temporary employees as needed. Ensures the facility maintains the proper number of personnel trained in first aid and CPR and that required level of safety and medical supplies are maintained in inventory.

Education and experience:

Post-secondary education required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, EH&S, Safety from an accredited College or University, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2- 3 years’ experience in a safety or EH&S role. Manufacturing background is a must!
