WORKING CONDITIONS: 40 non-exempt hours/week: clean environment, safety and quality focus, must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, overtime as business requires.

Job Description:

An ideal candidate will have some fiber optic assembly experience, but cable assembly experience is ok as well as mechanical background.

Assembly of Fiber Optic probes, polishing and inspection including end control of the optical fibers.

Use of various tools and equipment to assemble and test the fiber optic probes.

Required:

Experience with hand/power tools, a mechanical aptitude with the ability to work well with hands. The understanding and practice of assembly and industrial workmanship standards. Knows how to read drawings and knows how to follow BOM's and work instructions.

Electro-Mechanical small parts experience. Experience with fiber optic termination, fiber polishing would be also a prefered experience but can be trained on the job. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Level of Independence:

Strong team player but also able to work in a self-directed manner. Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn. Reports to a supervisor and follows a set of standards and procedures to perform routine work. Seeks supervisory approval for non-routine matters.

Education:

High School education or GED

Technical Associates degree or certificate, or equivalent related experience

Fiber Optic Industry experience is a plus

Job candidates have to be US Citizens or Green Card Holders
