Job Description:

We are seeking an Intermediate CNC Programmer with experience using Mastercam. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and ideally some hands-on experience with CNC Lathe and CNC Mill operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has reached their potential in their current shop but has not yet found the opportunity to advance into a full-time programming role.

As a CNC Programmer at PlaSteel, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support our manufacturing operations. These tasks include designing fixturing, creating and updating set-up sheets, order tooling, and developing ballooned sketches for manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

CNC Programming: Design and create CNC programs for a variety of operations using Mastercam.

Fixturing: Develop and design fixtures required for machining processes.

Tooling: Order tooling and ensure proper tooling is available and ready for production.

Set-Up Sheets: Create and update detailed set-up sheets for production runs.

Ballooned Sketches: Develop manufacturing operation ballooned sketches to clarify the machining process.

Collaboration: Work closely with machinists and shop personnel to troubleshoot programs and improve processes.

Qualifications:

Experience: 3+ years of CNC programming experience, specifically with Mastercam.

CNC Lathe & Mill Experience: Hands-on experience operating CNC Lathes and CNC Mills is preferred.

Intermediate Skill Level: Looking for an intermediate skill level; ideal for someone who is looking to advance their career in CNC programming.

Fixturing & Tooling: Experience in designing fixturing and managing tooling orders.

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with shop floor staff and engineers.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with other CAM software in addition to Mastercam.

Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to programming and troubleshooting.
