Signs of the Times in Phoenix is seeking a qualified Channel Letter Fabricator to complement our fabrication team.
Candidate must have demonstrated sign industry experience in all aspects of sign making. The environment for this position is a shop environment.
Candidate must be able to work independently and take action as required by the duties and responsibilities given to them.
Under general direction from the Shop Manager, this is a production position requiring hands on knowledge and use of tools & equipment to produce finished products. The best matched candidate would have 2+ years of production experience, and be comfortable in a hands-on role working in a deadline-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fabricates metal using Bender.
Forms material into appropriate shape.
Punches material using Letter Lock.
Installs LED wiring.
Attaches letter face.
Trims out letter using Notcher
Completes all necessary reports such as, but not limited to, completion slips, material listing forms, timecards, documents, and file records such as work orders, requisition forms, accident report forms, and personal expenditure receipts
Assists in the handling, packing, loading, securing, and unloading of finished goods to ensure proper procedures are observed.
Demonstrates flexibility in work hours to include availability for overtime hours as required by management.
Attends all necessary meetings and training as required by management.
Provides care and security for all company resources.
Performs necessary housekeeping activities, this includes, but is not limited to, the picking up of all debris that results from production activities, this includes proper storage of all materials and equipment when they are not in use as well as all other materials which may be offensive or hazardous.
Additional Experience Appreciated
1-2 years of fabrication experience
Basic mechanical/construction knowledge concerning metals, wood, plastic, blueprints, and fasteners
Working knowledge of CLN machines, punch presses, press shears and various power tools as they apply to fabrication
Ability to read and use a tape measure
Adequate math skills
High attention to detail
Enjoys working in both a team and individual work setting
