We're searching for a passionate individual to join our team as an Art Installer & Driver at Axiom Contemporary Gallery. This isn't just a job, it's an adventure.
Here's a taste of what awaits:
Travel the major cities across the US: We do art fairs in all four corners of the country. Frequent spots are New York, Miami, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
Become a master of logistics: Bring your own problem-solving skills or learn on the job. This position requires aptitude in learning how to pack artwork and load a truck. Safe handling or artwork is a top priority.
Work closely with creators, understanding their vision and transforming spaces into stunning galleries. Witness the magic of art coming to life! Each installation presents unique challenges and opportunities to learn. We sell artwork while at the fairs and then install at the customers' homes while in town.
Build a community: Forge connections with artists, collectors, and fellow art enthusiasts. This isn't just a job, it's a vibrant network of creative minds.
Basic tool work: Learn the principles of installation and hardware types for the crating, packing, shipping, and installation of different types of materials. Prior use of a tape measure and drill is important, but nothing is overly complex.
This role isn't for the faint of heart:
Multi-day trips are the norm: Be prepared to spend weeks on the road, living out of your suitcase and embracing the nomadic lifestyle. We pick up work along the road and plans can change while traveling so flexibility is also important. You must want to travel every five weeks or so; with day trips to LA every other week.
Physical fitness is key: Lifting heavy crates and navigating awkward spaces requires strength and stamina.
Precision is paramount: A meticulous eye and steady hand are essential for creating flawless installations.

This is can feel like more than just a job at times, but you have no expenses while traveling and are balanced with weeks off while you are home in AZ. Our gallery is located in the Biltmore neighborhood but you can live anywhere in the region.
