Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time Off = 4.62 hours for every 80 hours worked

Requirements:

- Ability to package and box home and apartment personal belongings

- Ability to do heavy furniture/appliances lifting loading and unloading moving truck, all day, every day

- Ability to set up and tear down tables and chairs for Catering Events

- Ability to do minor floor care, waxing, cleaning, using floor buffers (will train)

- Ability to work indoors or outdoors

Background Check:

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, performs routine manual tasks in moving and storage services for all departments and maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of our facility.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Pack: Physically packing/unpacking cartons in our resident’s homes while using extreme care not to damage items in the relocation process. Attaches identifying tags or marks information on items for easy identification. Installs protective devices, such as bracing, padding or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

Move: Physically moving cartons and furniture to or from our resident’s homes and offices while using extreme care not to damage the belongings. Transports to and from designated areas, by hand, moving dollies, and hand trucks.

Responsible for setting up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, auctions or other events.

Cleans garden and assisted living homes, apartments, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and any other assigned areas by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing; including light upholstery cleaning.

Operates a variety of floor care equipment to include auto scrubber, carpet extractor, steam cleaner and wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas and floors.

Empties and decontaminates trash containers.

Disposes of infectious waste when necessary.

Replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand cleaner/soap.

Keeps storage areas well stocked, clean, and organized.

Ability to use proper/correct dilutions of cleaning agent as instructed by the manufacturer.

Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.

Assists on floor maintenance crew whose work involves the principal responsibility for stripping, buffing and waxing floors with industrial grade machinery.

Reports building or equipment repairs to the Facilities department.

Performs many varied custodial tasks related to the upkeep of the facility.

Performs custodial related duties required to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions.

Attends all meetings as required and assists other departments as needed.

May need to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees when needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

Has ability to speak, read, and write English.

Has knowledge of moving, storage, custodial, housekeeping, laundry and flooring operations and equipment.

Has ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures

Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent prefered

Preferably has knowledge on using iPad. Training will be provided.

Preferably has one year of experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service or other related work

Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or can apply for one within 20 days of hire.

If the above driving duties apply, has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.

Communication Skills:

Has a clear speaking voice and is fluent in English. Being bilingual would be a plus.

Has ability to speak, work and interface with all levels of co-workers, residents, guests and employees.

Has ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Demonstrates excellent telephone and customer service etiquette.
