Arbor Ground Specialist:
Main Responsibilities:
Carry out all maintenance duties allocated by the crew leader/foreman
Carry out verbal and written instructions from crew leaders and management
Assisting arborists with tree removals, pruning and debris disposals
- Lowering branches with ropes using devices or other approved methods
- Keeping climbers ropes free of debris
Learning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members
Daily inspection and of using tools and equipment like chippers, chainsaws, and stump grinders to carry out the tasks, including greasing and air pressure on tires, mixed gas, clean up tools, etc.
Ensuring all sites are kept clean and free of hazards
Requirements
Previous work experience as a Groundsman preferred
Ability to lift at least 50lbs or more on a daily basis
Ability to walk, climb, stand, kneel and stoop
Have good balance and depth perception
Ability to communicate and comprehend work orders and instructions
Ability to work outside for 8 hours or more in the different weather conditions
Must have a positive attitude
