JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The HR Generalist will be responsible for recruitment and hiring, onboarding new employees, orientation and training, implementing employee relation initiatives, and assisting with scheduling shifts and performance reviews. This position requires the person to possess leadership and management abilities, where they can initiate on their own and carry out directives in a productive manner.

We welcome and value people with different backgrounds, beliefs and viewpoints. The duties of the HR Generalist include:

Recruitment and hiring. Manage and maintain job boards. Understand hiring goals and ensure candidates are assessed against appropriate requirements and criteria. Call, screen and qualify candidates, and schedule and coordinate in-person interviews.

Onboarding and Offboarding. Oversee new hire orientation and onboarding, initiate background checks, prepare employment materials, oversee company policies and acknowledgment forms are properly collected and signed, file required documentation for personnel files.

Orientation and training. Introduce and review company philosophy and background, policy and procedures, job responsibilities and expectations, resident profiles, safety procedures, employee handbook, and on-the-job training and support.

Scheduling and payroll. Assist with scheduling shifts for new and existing employees using company software, and coordinate with the Executive Director on payroll processing.

Reports and database. Participate in management and staff meetings regarding HR initiatives and events. Manage recruitment database and report on weekly data and interviewing activity.

Maintain knowledge of corporate services. Maintain a strong knowledge of the company’s achievements, its healthcare services, competitive advantages, and overall philosophy and goals. This includes market trends and competition.

Ongoing in-service education and training. Participate in educational training sessions for staff and attend mandatory CEU courses.

Performance reviews. Assist with semi-annual performance reviews, outline performance goals and provide constructive feedback to increase employee performance.

Employee morale and wellness. Organize staff and team building activities, office events/birthdays and wellness activities.

REQUIREMENTS

Interested candidates must possess:

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual is a plus. Ability to present and articulate themselves in a professional manner in front of a group of people

Bachelor degree with course experience in the areas of human resources, recruiting, business administration; or equivalent professional experience

Sharp interview skills and ability to screen for interpersonal and ethical qualities

Prior HR experience, preferably in healthcare

Goal-oriented attitude who is exceptional at follow-through and has an outgoing personality. Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work with limited direction. Ability to initiate on their own and carry out directives

Excellent attention to detail

Professional attitude and self-motivated

Demonstrates good time management skills

Other requirements:

Must pass pre-hire background check and drug screen

May require availability when necessary to work beyond normal working hours, including on weekends and holidays

Advanced computer skills, especially with presentation and document software (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
