Another Source’s client, Maricopa County Community College, is recruiting an Employee Accessibility and ADA Program Manager to join their team. You will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule, coming to campus 1-2 days a week in this role.

About the role:

The Employee Accessibility and ADA Program Manager will oversee compliance with federal and state disability laws and regulations, including the timely and ongoing compliance of District services and activities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title II of the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to accommodation and accessibility. The Program Manager will collaborate with the District’s ten colleges and sites, as well as various departments District-wide in the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures. The Program Manager will coordinate, develop, and provide training for faculty and staff, work with vendors and departments to facilitate employee accessibility, and support the District’s accommodations process for employees, with the goal of developing, managing, and continuously improving employee accommodations and accessibility experiences at scale.

How you can expect to spend your time:

35% Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies, requirements and/or standards.

30% Collaborates with partners to coordinate and direct training; develop processes and procedures to support assigned program(s).

10% Develops and implements program strategies, goals and objectives; participates in strategic planning and decision-making.

10% Directs and facilitates the resolution of escalated issues and employee concerns.

5% Identifies standards, trends, best practices and emerging technologies in support of assigned programs.

5% Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of staff.

5% Performs other duties as assigned.

What we would like to see from you:

Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, educational leadership or related field and five (5) years of program administration or management experience, that includes two years of supervisory experience. Related degree or field: law, public or business administration, human services, social sciences

OR Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and seven (7) years of program administration or management experience, that includes two years of supervisory experience.

OR High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of program administration or management experience, that includes two years of supervisory experience.

Expert knowledge of:

The Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal, state and local laws pertaining to the rights of people with disabilities.

Various alternative formats and technologies that enable people with disabilities to communicate, participate and perform tasks.

Issues of accessibility, such as digital accessibility or experience in implementing the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

Three (3) years of direct professional level experience providing consultation, guidance and training in ADA/accessibility, accommodations and compliance.

Three (3) years direct experience developing and conducting ADA and accessibility training programs.

Experience mediating and/or facilitating requests for reasonable accommodations and accessibility.

Current ADA Coordinator Training Certificate
