Experienced Phlebotomist Technician

Requirements:

Our requirements include: · High school diploma or equivalent, as well as Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency · Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course (or equivalent) · Valid driver’s license with clean driving record · Minimum of 2 years of experience as a patient service technician/phlebotomist · Proficiency in the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, urine drug screen collections.

Position Responsibilities:

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for medical testing. The phlebotomist has direct contact with patients and must create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. Ensures that specimen requirements are met at the time of collection and maintains specimen integrity. Fully understand all of the physician’s orders. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend department trainings. Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
