Kid Sister — a new wine bar & restaurant in central Phoenix — is looking for a Line Cook / Chef de Partie to join our opening team. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, efficient, and can both collaborate well with others and function independently.
We are a small, highly collaborative group. We help each other and look out for one anotherno matter the position. Though in a casual setting, expect a professional environment. Must be accountable, respectable, and have realistic expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain food storage and preparation procedures
Execute menu items from start to finish, from preparation of ingredients to cooking and plating
Maintain a strong sense of ownership of station, work clean, organized, and calm
Work collaboratively with BOH and FOH staff
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and BOH equipment
Follow open/close procedures and participate in deep cleaning
Communicate clearly and effectively with management team
Welcome/accept feedback and coaching from management team in order to maintain and grow
Assist in general tasks as specified by chef and GM
Follow safety and sanitation protocols set by health department
Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
General cooking knowledge and knife skills
Food Handler’s Certification
Able to stand for at least 8 hours and lift 50 pounds
Open availability weekends, nights and holidays
2+ years of experience in a high volume restaurant
High school diploma or equivalent
Compensation
Starting @ $20/hour + Tips
