You'll also put patients and their loved ones at ease by explaining test results in a way they can understand and make significant healthcare decisions.The Visual Monitoring Unit, a 10 bed specialized unit for medical surgical telemetry patients, is a dynamic and unique environment. With special precautions in place to ensure the safety of both staff and patients, the unit also caters to patients with a secondary mental health diagnosis.The VMU, with its own care coordination staff and security, offers an interesting and ever-changing work setting where no two days are the same.As a Telemetry Nurse, you'll serve as a key member of our collaborative nursing team. Working closely with our doctors and other clinical specialists, you'll have the opportunity to observe patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Your ability to build trust in these interactions, learn new concepts, and apply your knowledge in real time to provide solutions for real people is highly valued. Your enthusiasm to provide great care, learn new things, and communicate effectively with peers, patients, and patients' loved ones is what sets you up for success in this role.Responsibilities:
Track routine heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse ox levels
Quickly report and address any changes in condition
Patiently and thoroughly explain tests results and procedures to patients and family members
Educate patients on post-hospital care, including prescribed medicine, care maintenance, and prevention
