There are great neighborhoods around Phoenix, with easy access to a major city, nature, the arts and many more amenities. DescriptionProvides overall strategic management and direction to support the organizational goals related to the elimination of systemic causes of safety incidents and issues. The RCA Program Manager will lead a team of RCA Specialists and provide direction for overall analysis/investigation of safety incidents that affect our business operations across North & South America. The RCA Program Manager will manage the RCA Program across the Company with a focus on incident analysis overview, introducing continuous improvement strategies, training oversight and developing unique solutions that will help reduce reoccurring safety incidents. This position reports to a Director of Health & Safety (DOHS).

Strategically manages entire RCA program, including developing processes, goals and objectives related to the success of this program and elimination of reoccurrences.

Drives implementation of process control strategies using data and trend analysis, root cause analysis & corrective actions.

Creates and manages quality mechanisms to ensure periodic assessments of program and drives continuous improvements to process

Facilitates a critical control improvement plan based on RCA findings, for communication and implementation across the organization

Creates and adjusts RCA program KPI’s to reflect improvements in the organization’s safety performance

Regularly reports relevant data and trending events to various audiences including site General Managers, DOHS Directors, site managers, etc…

Creates and manages a grading mechanism for all completed RCA’s.

Monitors and ensures timely implementation and effectiveness of approved RCA solutions

Reviews completed RCA’s for consistency and effectiveness

Supervises RCA Specialists in daily activities surrounding investigations and RCA’s and ensures that the right resources are available to investigate, identify and resolve the root cause of a problem.

Provides guidance to RCA specialists on various subjects such as investigation methods, facilitation skills, mediator skills, etc…

Leads and mentors team to advance the a safety and quality culture based on KPI results

Provides support to the RCA specialists when conflicts arise and require additional guidance for resolution

Perform other duties as required.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

High School diploma/GED and eleven (11) years of experience in Health & Safety or related mining operational/maintenance experience.

Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience in the areas of Health & Safety, Engineering, Process Improvement, or direct related technical experience.

Master’s degree and five (5) years of experience in the areas of Health & Safety, Engineering, Process Improvement, or direct related technical experience.

Strong analytical & problem-solving skills (ability to quickly grasp problem, understand its complexities, analyzing the issue and identifying risk & break down complex problems)

Proficient investigation skills

Provide leadership and work direction, and evaluate the performance of subordinate RCA staff

Ability to analyze information of considerable complexity and draw conclusions (interpret trends and patterns and prioritize responses)

Confident communicator and presenter, including written and verbal skills, effective at all levels of the organization.

Strong facilitator and mediator qualities (creating inclusive environment, stimulates conversations, sets guidelines, remains impartial, high-level of perceptiveness, etc

Strategic and tactical thinker with the ability to multitask and prioritize

Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively manage RCA program.

Ability to coach and influence leadership at all levels of the organization.

Ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

RCA/Incident investigation background

Six Sigma experience or certification

Ability to analyze and use information gathered through Root Cause Analysis, 5-Whys Analysis, Risk Management Processes, and/or Equipment System Processes

Data Analytics/Data Mining Skills

Strong analytical, organizational and negotiation skills, as well as a high degree of initiative

Previous experience in a mining, metal manufacturing, heavy industrial or fabrication environment

Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA/other regulatory agency requirements

Criteria/Conditions:

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer YouThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently 107,000-$149,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
