The Payroll Manager will oversee, supervise the organization's payroll team, as well as execute key payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.Roles & Responsibilities:Lead the payroll team of specialists, which may include delegating, reviewing work, training and coachingProcess multistate weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll for 1400+ employees under varying EINs in an environment with a layered and complex compensation structure.Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay ratesImplements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.Manage the annual year-end W-2 reconciliation process, ensuring complete accuracy and timeliness.Setup Workman's Compensation, Unemployment, and other applicable programs in new states.Provide support and training on key payroll processes and systems to both leaders and their teamsServe as a point of escalation to investigate and resolve payroll discrepanciesPartner with Finance and PeopleOps to ensure proper 401k enrollment and administration.Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Key Competencies:Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxesStrong payroll compliance knowledge & expertiseExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong supervisory and leadership skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareProficient with payroll software
