The position functions as the supervisor during their assigned shift to support the department and staff to carry out the patient logistics program responsibilities.The Patient Logistics RN Manager collaborates with customers and staff to ensure efficient and effective communication with others including but not limited to: hospital administration nursing leadership or their designee medical staff physicians and transportation vendors to ensure patients are assigned rooms in an expedient manner utilizing all critical resources within the organization to expedite this process.Primary responsibility will include supervising patient logistics coordinators and nurses in the Dignity Health Patient Logistics Center including Transfer Center and Bed Placement. Responsibilities also include implementing and maintaining the central bed placement program for the designated Dignity Health hospitals.Responsibilities also include:

Assists in the development of and maintain protocols, algorithms, and work aids to support the operations of the patient logistics department.

Ensures staff have the tools they need to effectively and efficiently facilitate placement of patients in Dignity Health Facilities.

Assist in the development and facilitate orientation of new staff.

Compiles data for the purpose of quality assurance and compliance with organizational and department policies, work aids, and algorithms.

Holds staff accountable to the established standards.

Participate in Patient Logistics growth and improvement.

Support leadership in preparation of reports, program material, research, data collecting and analysis for various meetings and/or programs.

Manage Bed Placement and Transfer Center in accordance with the established work aids and algorithms and support staff in learning and upholding these work processes.

Lead supervisory support to Patient Logistics Coordinators and support of Patient Logistics RN’s and other staff as needed.

Ability to function and lead independently with self-initiative and discipline.

QualificationsMinimum Experience, Education and Licensure:

Registered Nurse with:

5 years of clinical experience;

2 years of ICU or ED experience;

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Current Registered Nurse License in Arizona (RN:AZ) and/or compact license.

Special Skills Required :

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of customers including patients, providers, hospital and office staff, health plans, medical groups, internal departments, community resources, and peers;

Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills toward making appropriate decisions, as well as in a team environment;

Ability to multi-task and prioritize;

Detail oriented;

Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to meet timeframes;

Ability to learn quickly and retain complex information:

Must be available to be on-call bi-weekly as the Lead On Call.

Training:

Familiarity with TeleTracking,Transfer Center, Cerner, Invision, MS4, PMOffice, and Cerner Registration Platforms.

Preferred / Desired Experience:

Progressive responsibilities leading up to or including supervisory role; Case Management or Care Coordination; Critical care.
