This individual promotes excellence based on department specific and organizational goals. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24 hour clinical accountability for assigned areas. The Nurse Supervisor 24/7 practice creates a professional environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care and is an advocate for patient and staff safety. This position requires collaboration with all other Mayo services to enhance patient care and assure that appropriate care is delivered for the population served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's specific needs is required. The Nurse Supervisor 24/7 practice supports leadership through activities that include development of staff, teaching, and community involvement. The individual may also be involved with hiring staff, staffing the unit and participation in committees and research. The individual supervises nursing practice within a hospital-based program/unit and has supervisory responsibilities such as staff performance reviews.This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.During the selection process you may participate in a virtual (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing program, masters preferred.
Minimum of two years of nursing practice or progressive leadership experience required.
Additional Qualifications:
Two years of Infusion Center experience preferred.
Management experience preferred.
Preferred Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited Master's in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, business, or health related field as approved by Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee.
As a condition of employment, individuals working with addictions services must be free from problematic substance use for a minimum of the immediately preceding two years at time of hire.
License/Certifications:
Current state RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the State Board of Nursing in which the RN practices.
This RN job may require a RN license in multiple states.
Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Maintains ACLS and PALS per specific unit guidelines.
Any additional specialty certification/training required by the work area is highly recommended.
