As part of our team you will provide clinical expertise support and oversight that helps ensure our patients receive exceptional care. As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to champion the change by joining in our mission of healing through humankindness.As our surgical services nurse at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center- Westgate, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable.Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, make sure the equipment is ready to go, and update family members on the surgery status during the operation. You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery.To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.Responsibilities:

Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR

Care for patients before, during, and after procedures

Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients

Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies

Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients

QualificationsMinimum:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.AZ RN licenseAmerican Heart Association BLS certificationAmerican Heart Association ACLS certification2 Years of OR experience requiredPreferred:BSNPay Range$45.78 - $45.78 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
