For additional information about our company, visit our website at www.fisherind.comPOSITION SCOPEThe Field Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative and emergency maintenance of repairs and maintaining company vehicles, material delivery trucks, along with other vehicles and heavy equipment related to industry. Travel is required.PRIMARY DUTIESPerforms diesel and gasoline engine repairs and maintenanceDiagnoses and performs power train component repairs and maintenanceTroubleshoots and performs hydraulic system repairs and maintenanceDiagnoses and repairs truck air brake systems problemsRepairs suspension and steering systemsTroubleshoots and repairs electrical systemsPerforms specialized component repair such as hydraulic and mechanical drivesMake minor repairs including welding and cuttingMust have knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety orders, including safety precautions on raised truck beds, brakes, mixer lockouts, etc.Maintains good housekeeping and keeps accurate company records and completes work orders on equipmentOperates individually and within a team environmentWorks overtime and weekends as neededWorks multiple shifts as neededPerforms other job-related duties as assignedEnsure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditionsBe familiar with Caterpillar and Volvo EquipmentWelding as neededREQUIREMENTSPrefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED)Commercial driver's license (Class A or B)Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMVPrior construction experience preferredMust be able to write legibly to complete work orders and other required paperworkMust be able to read and comprehend maintenance manualsHighly dependable, ability to work in fast paced environmentExperience with weldingExperience with hydraulics and electricalAbility to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat in higher than 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snowFisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
