This position serves as the Director of Pharmacy for NATIVE HEALTH. This position is responsible for the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care where the patient’s needs are the primary concern. Work performance is reviewed for conformance to policies, procedures, and practices related to pharmaceutical care delivery. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing staff pharmacists and for pharmacy technicians.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Determine the objectives of the department; plan, organize, and direct general pharmacy policies and procedures.Serve as the 340B Program Manager and be responsible for the compliance and oversight of 340B-related activities.Provides and ensures safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies.Documents all patient-provider interactions following health care standards.Participates as an active member of an integrated patient centered team.Supports organization as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Strong knowledge of current evidence-based pharmaceutical guidelines.Skills in providing diagnostic, preventive, and/or therapeutic services to patients.Knowledge of public health, community health, and population health.Ability to work effectively with staff members who have a variety of backgrounds and training.Ability to accomplish the quality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time.Ability to plan own work and carry out assignments effectively.Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to work.Proficient with computer-based applications such as Microsoft Office.Ability to maintain patient medical records and utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and associated technologies in said maintenance.Ability to establish rapport and gain the confidence of others.Ability to function as a health care delivery team member.Ability to assess quality patient care.Ability to provide cross coverage at NATIVE HEALTH clinic locations as needed.Must be able to work with confidential material without betraying the trust of patients, families, or the agency.Knowledge of the cultural and social backgrounds of the Native American and under or uninsured population.Demonstrate adherence to principles of confidentiality, scientific/academic integrity, informed consent, and ethical practice.Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload.
