DescriptionCitizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Manager Database Engineering for its Johnston, RI location.Duties: Plans, designs, and implements database systems that meet the needs of the organization. Develops and manages database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the integrity, security, and availability of data. Leads a team of database engineers and administrators, providing technical guidance and mentoring. Collaborates with other departments to identify business needs and translating those needs into technical requirements. Evaluates new database technologies and making recommendations for their adoption. Manages and monitors the performance of database systems and makes improvements as necessary. Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and industry best practices. Leads disaster recovery planning and testing. Manages database projects and ensures on time and on budget completion. Collaborating with architects, product managers and other technical or non-technical stakeholders to define design approaches that are aligned with the customer-centric product vision. Ensures engineering and documentation best practices are understood and followed. Ensures successful incremental product releases while driving to deadlines and optimizing investments.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field followed by seven (7) years of progressive experience in the position offered or related role. Full term of experience must include: Database architecture and engineering for a financial services institution, utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager, RMAN, Terraform, Redhat Linux, Oracle Linux, Windows Server, and AIX; Design, development, installation, configuration, and upgrading of Oracle Exadata Platform database software and related products, including Oracle RDBMS, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, Postgresql, MongoDB, and AWS RDS database offerings; Development and implementation of database software, backup and recovery, database performance tuning; Architecting High Availability solutions, complex security, Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and database space management to support operations in a financial services institution; Programming for database solutions using Shell scripting, Powershell, SQL, SQL/PL; Development of middleware / application access methods to data infrastructure; Development of technical standards and documentation for database infrastructure components and processes; Creation of automating deployment of database components for on-premises solutions using common deployment technologies; and Tracking and providing solutions for database risk and compliance issues.
