Architect & Architectural Manager
Responsible for overseeing architectural projects and ensuring they align with standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Directing Teams: They lead teams of architects and engineers during various projects, such as building new homes or improving infrastructure.
Project Oversight: They monitor the preparation of documents and contracts for construction projects, review funds, and prepare estimates.
Quality Assurance: They coordinate construction activities and ensure quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Stakeholder Management: They maintain cohesion among clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Additional Information:
This includes managing the integration of structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil engineering, and other consultants throughout the design and construction phases.
Project Bidding and Estimations: Make bids on potential building projects and develop initial cost estimates, construction timelines, and any special requirements.
Client Interaction: Work directly with clients to determine their needs and requirements for building projects, offering design solutions that align with their goals.
Detailed Drawings and Design: Prepare detailed architectural drawings and plans that demonstrate both the exterior and interior layout of the project, ensuring a high level of visual and structural integrity.
Staff Coordination: Direct and manage staff in the development of project drawings, studies, and budgets, ensuring quality control at every stage of the design process.
Contract Preparation: Develop and prepare work contracts for building subcontractors, ensuring clear scope and expectations are set.
Site Inspections: Regularly visit building worksites to ensure that construction is being carried out according to architectural plans and that quality standards are maintained.
Public Presentations: Develop and deliver presentations to inform the public about upcoming public building projects, promoting transparency and community engagement.
Architectural Software Proficiency: Utilize architectural software to create comprehensive building plans and designs, ensuring the integration of supporting engineering documents.
Conflict Resolution: Review architectural documents for potential conflicts with other disciplines and resolve issues before they impact the project.
Quality Assurance: Perform QA/QC and technical reviews to ensure the final product meets all required standards.
Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and coordinate with the entire project team, including other architects, engineers, and consultants, ensuring smooth collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Architectural License preferred.
Experience
Proficiency in Revit and experience in managing the integration of engineering documents with architectural designs.
Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and building structures, with the ability to generate technical documents that clearly define design intent and requirements.
Experience with construction submittals, substitution requests, and Requests for Information (RFI's).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to large groups.
Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills, with the ability to lead design and construction meetings with clients and contractors.
Knowledge of building permitting processes and experience interfacing with building permitting officials during design and construction.
