We are looking for a Controller to join our management team.
The Gruber Companies are privately owned, inclusive of Gruber Industries Inc., Gruber Technical Inc., Gruber Motor Company and Gruber Commercial Properties. We have been operating 40+ years within high-tech Industries that generate over $28M a year in revenue. We are seeking a dynamic candidate to join our management team as our Controller. Our headquarters is in North Phoenix, the position will be onsite providing leadership, direction, collaboration and mentoring with our accounting team.
Controller Job Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
Manage accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
Prepare for audits.
Work to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
Ensure compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
Use accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
Delegate accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.
Perform collection efforts as needed.
Coordinate with and prepare reports for CFO and upper management.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Lead a team of 7 people

Qualifications/Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail oriented and highly organized
Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
Excellent critical thinking skills
Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field highly desired
At least 5 years’ experience in accounting, including leadership experience
CPA or CMA not required, but would be a plus

This person will be an exceptional communicator, with an ability to explain financial concepts in an easy-to-understand manner to people who have little financial experience. Our ideal candidate will also be both able to get along with others and able to resolve conflict in a positive manner.

Pay: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, DOE
