We Are SeekingTeam Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Police Teleserve Officer. The Police Teleserve Officer reports to a Police Sergeant. The primary function of this position is to provide 24/7 customer service to citizens over the telephone and in-person to answer questions, complete police reports for specific crimes and provide information regarding status of prisoners held at the Gilbert/Chandler Unified Holding Facility. This position also processes vacation watch requests, patrol watches, body worn camera video requests and completes supplemental police reports with laboratory analysis results. The Police Teleserve Officer completes police incident reports, notarizes affidavits, collects cash and surety bonds and completes the associated required paperwork for prisoner releases. This classification works in a 24/7 work environment and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.Some of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position include:

Provides in person customer service to citizens in the Police Department lobby

Obtains information and writes police reports for specific crimes.

Obtains and inputs data for vacation watch and patrol watch requests.

Researches and provides information to the public regarding inquiries about prisoners being held at the Gilbert/Chandler Unified Holding Facility.

Reviews and redacts body worn camera video in compliance with the law for public release.

Writes supplemental police reports for laboratory test results.

Fingerprints offenders to satisfy court requirements and notarizes legal documents.

Creates Calls-for-Service using the Department's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED

Six months of customer service or data entry experience

Must possess strong customer service and organizational skills, as well as the interpersonal and communication skills needed to maintain positive relationships with community members and co-workers. Also requires attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and basic math and computer skills.

Must be able to perform rotating shift work in a 24/7 work unit
