Description We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant with a strong background in Grant Accounting. This individual will be based in Fort McDowell, Arizona, and will be expected to expertly handle federal grants, perform financial reporting, and understand grant compliance. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Manage and process federal grants, ensuring compliance with all regulations Prepare and submit financial reports related to the finance grants Conduct thorough grant reconciliations routinely Utilize General Ledger (GL) for all grants to maintain accurate records Oversee financial aspects including expenses and drawdowns Collaborate with various government agencies for filing purposes Monitor grant-related numbers and finances Conduct regular accounting tasks as related to the role Ensure understanding and adherence to A133 regulations Work in an online environment, demonstrating proficiency in digital tools and platforms. Requirements Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred. Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in a corporate setting. Strong knowledge of Grant Accounting is essential. Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
