Mountain Line is looking for skilled and motivated Mechanics to help maintain our growing fleet of vehicles, including state-of-the-art Zero Emissions Buses. As a valued member of our maintenance team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready to serve our community.
Job Purpose of a Mechanic
Maintains Mountain Line’s fleet vehicles to include cars, trucks, vans, buses and other types of powered equipment. Performs preventative maintenance procedures per schedule and repairs mechanical issues relevant to scope of work. The mechanic will follow the prescribed maintenance procedures to include: diagnose, test, adjust and repair mechanical systems of gas, diesel, and hybrid vehicles.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
· This is entry to mid level skilled mechanical work that includes technical diagnostic, repair and rebuilding work as necessary. Completes road testing of vehicles to ensure proper repair. Also maintains a clean, efficient, and safe shop area
· Assist Mechanic Assistant with assigned duties.
· Ability to use diagnostic equipment as an aid in locating and repairing mechanical problems
· Respond to road calls
· Account for all material used in accordance with work order system and completes all required work orders and records in a timely and accurate fashion
· Will be responsible for snow removal, to include shoveling, using snow blower, and using a truck with a plow.
· Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Attendance
Attendance should be regular and predictable. General employment policies with regard to vacation, sick, and unpaid leave apply. Will need to work on holidays and occasional need to report to work on day off and work overtime.

Working Conditions, Exposure to Risks and Physical Dangers
This position requires physical effort and manual dexterity such as: walking, lifting, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, pull/push, grabbing, and lift up to 75 pounds in a proper safe manner.
Because of the potential exposure associated with the work, incumbents in this job are required to follow all Mountain Line safety procedures, manuals, and guidelines. Additionally, incumbents are required to properly don safety-related clothing, protective hard hats, gloves, footwear, tools and equipment, and other safety-related gear.
Education Requirements:
A High School diploma or G.E.D. .
Similar Work Experience:
Minimum one year of directly related experience in general mechanical repairs.
Licenses, Training and/or Certifications Required:
· ASE certification and other relevant certification preferred.
· Valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License with an air brake and passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL within 90 days.
