Rod's is hiring ALL Kitchen Staff - Mid Level to Experienced Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers

Goal of this position

The Line Cook prepares food to high quality standards and takes pride in how they plate each dish.

The Line Cook reports to the Kitchen Manager and General Manager

Job Responsibilities

Prepare food to the highest of quality by either following a set recipe or as directed by the Kitchen Manager.

Cook menu items to order, ensuring dishes meet the restaurant's established taste and quality standards.

Prepare food to precise temperature and consistency while strictly adhering to food safety standards.

Properly manage tickets and keep things flowing in an orderly manner.

Prepare and accurately plate dishes, ensuring they are ready for service.

Effectively manage the assigned station, keeping it clean and organized, and ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.

Maintain a sanitary work environment, keeping overall cleanliness of the kitchen.

Communicate well and maintain a great attitude.

Follow opening, midday, and closing procedures.

Take out all trash and boxes in the morning, midday, and after closing.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.

Work Environment

In this position you will be working with sharp objects such as knives, slicers, mixers, blenders, etc. You will also be working with fire and hot equipment including ovens, open flame burners, char broiler, griddle, and deep fryers. At no time are underage staff permitted to operate any dangerous or hazardous kitchen equipment.

Movement is spent in high-traffic areas while performing various tasks. The position is exposed to high energy, loud music, dim lighting, hot or sharp surfaces, and narrow passageways for long periods of time (8+ hours).

Physical Demands

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk or hear and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours).

Requires at times high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with hands, arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Hourly position that requires a flexible schedule, often-working workdays, weekends, and holidays. Shift hours can include as early as 12 pm and as late as 12 am.
