POSITION: Special Education Teacher (Full-Time, 180 day contract) to begin August 4, 2025
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
Valid Arizona Department of Education Special Education K-12 certification with English content area required
Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in education, special education, or other education-related fields.
Experience in a public and/or Montessori school setting.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Reports directly to the Assistant Director in all pertinent matters or areas of concern;
Assist with development and implementation of an overall academic support program for specified age levels in conjunction with the teachers’ individual needs for each class. This may include lesson planning, presenting group lessons, providing additional follow-up support to individual students, supporting Assistant Director, substituting, etc.;
Provide Special Education instruction to students on IEP as directed by the Assistant Director;
Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of IEP Pro software, Special Ed requirements and individual student IEPs and 504 plans.
Demonstrates competency to deliver a multi-dimensional program that supports the needs of individual children within the Montessori framework;
Is open to continuous self-improvement and self-evaluation with evidence of improvement and development based on the differentiated staffing model;
Evidence of basic computer literacy/competency;
Demonstrates competency to deliver an educational program based on the individual child;
Models positive attitudes and courteous behavior for all children and adults and will prepare all other visitors and teachers to model the same respect when working with children in this area;
Demonstrates competency to provide effective, innovative instruction with a balance of Montessori materials integrated with the Arizona State Standards;
Assist the Assistant Director with coordination of annual standardized testing
Implementation of ELL program and testing
Analyzes standardized test results with the Directors
Coordinates Move on When Reading requirements
