Reports to the Executive Director Supervises speech/language therapist and other staff and service providers related to IEPs and 504 plans.
Works closely with Principal Educators and other teaching staff to develop and implement appropriate, effective IEPs.
Communicate with parents, schools, agencies, and contractors regarding designated students. This may involve collaboration with the SPED consultant. Follow up with Principal Educators to ensure 45 day screenings are completed and turned in to the office for all new students. Follow up on with Principal Educators on any concerns noted in the 45-day screenings. Experience with SPED paperwork and legal requirements preferred
Set up meetings with parents to discuss testing, 504, IEP, or behavioral plans according to AZ law.
Write 504, IEP and behavior plans in line with AZ required compliance.
Support written plans by meeting and encouraging parents and teachers.
Work with students one on one to help them with learning differences.
Meet regularly with PEs and teaching staff to monitor progress of designated students.
Provide follow up meetings with parents to discuss student process and adjustments to the students academic or behavioral plan.
Complete SPED reports in a timely manner, and ensure they remain current.
Schedule and provide accommodations on standardized assessments for students with disabilities and 504 plans.
Keep all required records for special education organized and secure.
Serve as a resource for classroom interventions prior to referral.
Provide in-service for teaching staff on multi-factored evaluation process.
Participate in SCS leadership meetings.
Time commitment: Full Time (40 hours a week)
