Summary of Position:
Maintenance Level II staff perform an important apprentice role for the maintenance department. The position performs all the duties of Maintenance Level I, but possess the skills to operate the full range of power tools. Thus, Maintenance Level II personnel are trained in, and authorized to use, the full range of power tools and equipment used by the Maintenance Department, including the 4-wheeler.
Essential Functions:
1. Deliver Joy to Land’s End internal and external customers every day.
2. Optimize the efficiency of the Facility Engineer and maintenance team by assisting them in the execution of their duties, as directed.
3. Perform all the duties contained within the Maintenance Level I job description, as directed.
4. Perform daily and annual room maintenance on guest rooms and common areas.
5. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
6. Perform fabrication, assembly, de-construction, or special projects as assigned.
7. Assist with the receiving, inventory and approval of incoming orders and supplies.
8. Support Management in their implementation of the Land’s End Mission statement, Maintenance Manual, and Employee Handbook.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. High School degree, GED or equivalent is preferred.
2. Ability to interface professionally with guests, with management, and all front-line employees.
3. Self-Motivation; Ability to follow instructions; to work unsupervised and to focus on a single task through to completion. But equally, an ability to work within an accomplished team.
4. Must have advanced understanding of all hand power tools and their purpose, and a demonstrated ability to use them. Must possess basic knowledge of building systems.
5. Must have manual dexterity, balance and agility; Ability to lift 70 lbs. to waist height and hold for 1 minute. Ability to bend, kneel or squat; to twist and climb ladders, and stand for up to 6 hours. Ability to work around typical maintenance-generated odors and fumes.
