Need trustworthy person with handyman skills and personal skills who likes to fish to help maintain and manage a fishing lodge full time. Requires many flexible hours. Must live-in. Must love dogs. Must take care of lodge dogs. Must be flexible for extreme work hours to little/no hours. Summer time, must be flexible with sleeping arrangements to move out to motorhome when guests take over lodge. Motorhome Maintenence would be a plus. Need commitment to being comfortable with 24/7 surveillance/security on property. Work would include maintenance of property, security of property, carpentry jobs (odds and ends), helping clients check-in, helping prep fishing rods for guest, processing fish, carrying luggage to rooms, maintaining riverbank cleanliness and fire pit duties, possibly driving to and from Anchorage & to run errands with company truck, doing breakfasts if needed, maintaining jacuzzi, keeping deck cleared of snow during winter, organizing professional snow plowed driveway in winters, help maintaining owners motorhomes, and help with management of guests bookings which entails calling local excursion companies to book guests some fun Alaskan adventures. Owner would be working fairly closely with employee from out of state half of the year. It is a management/maintenance position with many hats but most busy time is summer when I’d need 100% of your time, but job leaves fall months with some work and winters very little work so hours are flexible. A fall & winter job elsewhere is encouraged. One requirement is making sure the lodge is watched every single night without fail. If you have to leave overnight, I need someone to cover for you watching the lodge and lodge dog/s. Would prefer no drinking and no pot smoking. Zero tolerance for drinking/smoking pot around guests or other possible part time staff/employees/family members. First few weeks of May would be organizing property. Weddings and full lodge rentals require RAPID PANIC MODE CHANGE OVERS but then a few days off in between in motorhome but “on-call” Maintenence so travel in area is possible during those days sometimes if property organization is complete.
