Job description - Lodge Assistant Manager
Manage and help with the following:
Cook breakfasts and fisherman’s lunch prep, and serving dinner.
Daily cleaning of 7 rooms and 6 bathrooms.
Laundry for bedding and towels every 3 days unless guest requests more.
Daily gardening and outside cleaning.
Handyman work
Other assigned tasks.
We are a small lodge, and a “do what it takes” attitude is necessary.
You will be working with a housekeeper, and a cook.
Hours of work vary, but days are long. A normal day starts early.
Dates of Employment: May 15-Sept 10
This is an hourly position. We will deduct income tax, social security and Alaska State Unemployment tax from your monthly check. You are covered by Worker's Compensation Insurance. Our lodge staff enjoys generous tips.
Saving Money:
Working at the lodge is not only an adventure, but an opportunity to save money. Unlike other jobs, we give you lodging. If we consider you as a member of our staff we will inform you what you can expect in gratuities per week.
Transportation:
Your point of hire is Kenai, Alaska. The job starts and ends in Kenai, Alaska. We do not pay airfare from the lower 48 to Kenai.
Housing:
We furnish a room. Employees stay in an onsite room, or trailer, which has
a bathroom. Housing will be assigned once the crew is hired.
Food:
Personal food and other necessities can be bought in town. You will have use of the lodge kitchen for breakfast and lunch.
Opportunity:
You have the opportunity to go fishing, sightseeing, hiking or boating. You can go fishing at any time you are off duty and we can get you on a boat. We encourage you to ask to go fishing.
Daily Schedule:
Guests depart for their days fishing around 6:00am at which time room cleaning and laundry begins. You will be on a flexible schedule. We are proactive and work until the work is done.
Dress Code:
Clean, neat and well-groomed is the standard. A professional appearance reflects the image we are looking for. We supply uniforms that are required wear. You will be required to bring specific items. The dress code for breakfast and dinner service is Jimmie Jack's Lodge logo shirts and T-shirts with either khaki or navy blue trousers or skirt. Your day wear when not serving guests can be any casual wear with Jimmie Jack logo. Upon your confirmed employment we will inform you exactly what you need to bring and what we furnish.
Requirements:
Our facilities and equipment are above average and we require employees to
keep them that way. We expect superior performance from our employees, in personal hygiene, professional contact with our customers and relations with other employees. The most important factors that we look for when hiring a person is a good attitude, honorable, and high work ethic. If you aren't willing to put in long hours, this is not the place for you. This position requires employees who are honest, presentable, personable and friendly. We require people who can present themselves in an outgoing manner. We expect good manners, good grooming and a professional appearance, above reproach.

Everyone pitches in to assist with an orderly change of guests.
