About the role:
As a game economy analyst, you will take a mobile game in any genre—RPG, Puzzle, Casino—and break down the economy (the inflow of currency in that game, from coins, energy, sales, etc.) and convert that into a spreadsheet. From that spreadsheet, our analysts will input data that they find while playing the game.
You will work closely with large mobile gaming companies and at Liquid & Grit, you will work directly with the CEO. For extra credit, you will be able to analyze the data.
About you:
You have spreadsheet experience and skills. You are diligent, disciplined to get your work done, and smart. You want to have autonomy and do great work that you are proud of. You are a fast learner and enjoy a challenge of figuring things out. You play games—although you do not have to be a hard core gamer, but it helps to know games—and you understand how game economies work.
About the company:
Liquid and Grit provides information and recommendations to mobile gaming companies. We break down games, features, and content in top grossing games and provide valuable information in monthly reports. We also offer consulting, which is where your work would primarily be focused.
Location:
We are located in California but have an entirely remote workforce (and have for years). This role is a contract role that will be done remotely—meaning you can work wherever you want—but it will be ongoing, consistent work.
Requirements:
No prior experience necessary—we often find that people without experience do very well
Access to a computer and internet
At least one ipad or iphone for playing mobile games to check things out
Must have a suitable iOS device to use for the first month. This device should be able to download multiple apps and be able to upgrade to the latest OS.
Ability to work in google documents, google sheets, and powerpoint/keynote
Must have spreadsheet experience and skills
General information:
- This is a contract position and start with less hours but ramp up (likely start 8-15 hours per week).
- This may increase up to 35 hours per week largely dependent on your abilities
Hiring process:
At Liquid and Grit, we hire using tests only so that we ensure—as best we can—that we hire on pure abilities (we often do not interview). This is the first test. There are usually three to four additional tests and the process takes less than two weeks. After the tests, we will hire 2-3 people to start working on actual projects to see how you do on our team. From there, we will select at least 1 person.
