Gastineau Guiding is seeking a full time maintenance mechanic. Applicants must have practical experience in
ongoing maintenance of commercial vehicles and marine vessels. Individuals must be able to effectively manage
their own time, balancing daily duties (such as tire changes, oil changes, property upkeep) with more serious
long-term projects, such as vehicle upgrades. Gastineau Guiding is a seasonal company with a fluctuating
maintenance schedule based on tour sales for April – October. This position is offering $20-$30/hr DOE.
General Duties:
1. Works closely with Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, and Lead Captain to create and
execute set maintenance schedule
2. Helps perform regular maintenance of 30 commercial vehicles (diesel and gas)
3. Helps perform regular maintenance of 10, 45’ & 34’ marine vessels (powered with Yamaha 250 hp
and Mercury Verado 300 outboards)
3. Submits weekly purchase & maintenance outlook reports
4. Coordinates and performs facilities maintenance and basic construction repair to Gastineau Guiding
buildings.
Key Job Responsibilities
Vehicles and Boats
1. Coordinates maintenance of boats and vehicles under the auspices of the direction of the
Maintenance manager
2. Have or obtain CDL (training can be provided)
3. Maintains and repairs commercial vehicles and marine vessels in conjunction with maintenance
team
4. Tracks work orders and annual maintenance history ofvehicles, boats and shopequipment
5. Documents and maintains spare parts inventory
Shop
1. Assists with planning and implementingshopimprovements
2. Capable of operating a wide variety of hand and power tools
3. Prepares or makes recommendations for improvingoperations and solving maintenance-related
problems
4. Upholds city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department
Facilities
1. Performs light building maintenance and upgrades at Apartment buildings, Shop and Office on an
as-needed basis.
