We are hiring tour guides for a small company, operating van tours. It's very rewarding work, and the pay for doing a 3hr. tour (plus cleaning vehicle after trip) is $100 + possible tips and bonuses.
The tour will usually be wildlife, culture, and nature focused, we will be going to totem parks, all around downtown, beach, wildlife, hiking trails, ECT.
Employees must meet high standards of professionalism, knowledge, and skill. (people skills, driving skills, time management, ability to be consistently engaging and entertaining, knowledge of Alaska, and of the local area ECT.)
However the job is extremely rewarding, you get to spend time with people on vacation looking to have a great time. The goal of the job is to have a fun time for you and the guests.
Requirements:
-Must have a valid Driver's license
-Must have a good driving record
-Must be able to speak and drive at the same time
-Must be mobile enough to do some walking, and light climbing and trail hiking
-Must be comfortable being the center of attention
-Must be extremely reliable, present and on time every tour
-Must be very well groomed and presentable
-Must be willing to cater to people's needs
-Must be able to entertain (good sense of humor, good story telling, good at presenting information)
-Must be able to fully narrate a 3 hour tour while driving
-Must be knowledgeable on the area, and be able to answer the many questions the guests have
-Must be very respectful and courteous at all times around the guests
- Must have positive feedback from the guests on your tours
- Previous tour experience is great but not required as long as you have the ability to be a fast learner.
- Must be able to learn new information to provide the guests
