Special Event Producer
About the position:
The Special Event Producer is responsible for overseeing production elements of concerts and JAHC special events
(community collaborations, celebrations, and other events as defined with extended JAHC staff). This position will
create policy and manage standard contracts and agreements with artists, venues, and vendors to bring arts
opportunity and access to Juneau.
Responsibilities:
Alaska Presenter’s Consortium Planning
● Manage and serve as point person in facilitation for concerts through the Alaska Presenter’s Consortium (APC)
and other avenues.
● Collaborate with APC to create annual concert lineups.
o Creating lineup schedules which equitably focus on highlighting out-of-state artists, as well as local &
Indigenous artists.
● Expand community access to JAHC concerts through ongoing marketing, PR, and collaboration with local
entities and businesses.
o This position will not actively manage JAHC social media accounts, although will be expected to aid
in procuring content in collaboration with the JAHC Social Media & Marketing Manager.
● Create and implement standard contracts and agreements between the JAHC and artists pertaining to the
following:
o Artist fees
o Organizing travel and lodging
o Hospitality items
o Set lists
o Other items as needed
● Solidify standing partnerships with a variety of local venues to organize concerts, bring goods, services, and
additional audience enrichment to JAHC hosted concerts.
● Track finances and expenditures of concert productions. Collaborate with JAHC Operations Director in creating
and adhering to established concert budgets.
● Communicate and coordinate with local and visiting artists, establishing and maintaining good rapport on behalf
of the JAHC.
● Utilize Rasmuson travel grants as well as other grant opportunities.
Special Events
● Creating opportunities for additional community events managed by the JAHC.
○ Collaborating with other local organizations to bring special events and celebrations to public
audiences in accessible ways.
○ Identifying artists, venues, and timelines for special events in tandem with the regular JAHC calendar
of events.
○ Collaborating with the JAHC Education Manager, additional staff, and the Juneau School District to
effectively implement educational value into planned programs.
○ Identifying and fulfilling necessary city permitting to successfully execute all planned elements of
special events.
Additional Details
● This is a full-time salaried exempt position, 40 hours/week, with a salary of $65,000 per year.
● This is a grant funded position over a period of three years. A major focus of this role will be developing
sustainable community partnerships and ticketing revenue streams.
● This position will also earn 5% of net revenue from newly implemented associated events, after being split
appropriately with venues.
● Employment is at-will, and will receive a performance review after a two-month introductory period.
● This work frequently requires unusual work hours to accommodate programs at the JACC, in Centennial Hall,
and at external venues. The JAHC will work to accommodate employees’ needs when able, but the primary
consideration is to accomplish the goals the JAHC has set, and employees must be willing to meet flexible
hours.
● Benefits include seven paid holidays, the usual lunch and rest breaks, and personal leave, accrued after two
months at the rate of 1.5 days/month.
● Health Reimbursement fund that accrues at $200 per month, with $1200 that can roll over to the next year.
