The Southeast Alaska Food Bank (SEAFB) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which focuses on providing food to local non-profits (membership agencies), individuals, and families in need. We coordinate pick-ups from our local grocery stores and food distributors, then disburse this food on-site through our storefront and weekly public food pantries. We recently built an on-site warehouse to expand our reach and our capacity to offer Federal food commodity grant programs. The need for food has risen in recent years and continues to rise so a lot of exciting things are happening at SEAFB to keep up with this demand!

The Warehouse Manager / Driver oversees the day-to-day operations of the SEAFB warehouse, the Grocery Rescue program and supervises volunteers. The Warehouse Manager / Driver is trained to operate warehouse equipment including a forklift. This position tracks and oversees the movement of inventory and maintains accurate records.

Core Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Manager / Driver

Ensures the warehouse is properly organized, clean, and all safety protocols are being followed.

Oversees and conducts daily operations of the Grocery Rescue Program.

Oversees food inventory in and out, ensuring everything is logged properly.

Works with staff to develop inventory tracking and organization. Utilizes software functionality to record inventory as processes become available.

Qualifications:

Required:

Ability to independently manage work with limited supervision and intermittent direction.

Ability to work collaboratively on both routine and complex tasks with staff and volunteers.

Sufficient communication skills to interact professionally and respectfully with wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds.

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and no moving violations in past 3 year period.

Flexibility and adaptability to respond to dynamic working environment with evolving needs. Must be able to cross-train and substitute into a variety of roles.

Familiarity with basic computer systems and software.

Ability to routinely lift 50+ pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred:

Experience, education or training in warehouse management, warehouse equipment, inventory systems, driving, or related field.

Demonstrable commitment to community service, “service-above-self” mentality, and/or extensive volunteer experience.

Organizational and managerial skills, including record-keeping, inventory management, supervisory duties, project management, etc.

Salary DOE $21-23 per hour

Location:

Southeast Alaska Food Bank is in the valley region of Juneau, Alaska, and our reach is through-out Southeast Alaska.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21-23 per hour DOE

Expected hours: 28 – 34 per week
