About the Role:
As an Adult Education Instructor, you’ll provide individualized and small-group instruction in:
- GED test preparation (math, science, social studies, reading, and writing)
- English language learning
- Employability and career readiness
- Study skills and test-taking strategies, and more!
You’ll work with learners from diverse backgrounds, tailoring lessons to meet their needs and helping them take the next step in education, work, or life.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach and support adult learners in person and online (Note: This is an in-person position in Juneau)
- Create individualized study plans and track student progress
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with community partners and recruit volunteer tutors
- Promote programs and help connect students with resources
What We’re Looking For:
- Teaching degree or BA in a related field (preferred)
- Alaska Teaching Certificate (preferred)
- Experience working with adult learners or diverse populations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons to student needs and integrate technology into instruction
