We are looking for a quality person to provide both basic housekeeping and after-school care for two elementary kids.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. (days off per JSD calendar)
Starting: ASAP
Location: downtown, close to Rainbow Foods.
Duties include: be at home to meet kids when they arrive from the school bus stop (about 2:45), help access snacks, enforce no screen time, check backpacks for lunch remains and notes/homework, maintain a safe environment, assist/encourage homework, and play (either indoors or at the park across the street). While the kids are self managing, help us keep up on the household by doing some tasks such as dishes, tidying, sweeping, or perhaps starting dinner if that's in your wheelhouse.
Our wishlist in a person includes:
- kind
- doesn't mind being outdoors
- can think on their feet
- comfortable around animals (dog and more)
- can model attributes like kindness, creativity, problem solving, and good grammar
Our preference is for someone who would stick with us through the school year and be a stable, reliable presence.
Pay $25+ per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications. Because it's not a ton of hours, this could be a good fit for someone in school or as a second job as long as the schedules work. Also open to the possibility of someone babywearing while working, just know that our house is small and has pets in it.
